I can't post the link for some lame rmation about the build is in the thread. The thread title is "Parallel 6AQ5/6005 SEP amp". So I took a chance and went for Maynard's 6AQ5/6005 SEPP circuit.I started off as a breadboard project, and progressed to completed amp. Don't get me wrong, the little SEP 6BQ5 amps have good bass, it's just limited. I would listen to either amplifier with their small output transformers and ponder that it would be great to have this nice SEP sound, but with a bit more power and bass grunt like the 2A3 amp.

And used within their operating parameters, they can sound rather nice and balanced on the Cornwalls. These amplifiers don't have the accentuated midrange, and are less forgiving with hard rock and metal. (one from OPT to the first tube's cathode, and the other a type of Schade feedback)

Using the Magnavox SE 6BQ5 amp or the RH84, both amplifiers have feedback. However, with milder rock music, Jazz, Electronica, and rap can really sound good with the 2A3 amplifier. The in your face guitar sound of this type of music can be overbearing with triodes. Triodes like 2A3 have a bit of accentuation in the eat for some music, but not for music like hard metal. The DHT 2A3 amplifier sounds excellent with most genres of music. I don't need that much power for moderate to loud levels. I have a small living room, and listen to the Cornwalls in a semi near-field to near-field arrangement. I also enjoy a SEP modded Magnavox 6BQ5 console amplifier, and a DIY RH84 amplifier. I have a DHT 2A3 stereo amplifier that I enjoy with the Cornwalls. I've listened to 2A3, 45, pseudo 300B, and 6BQ5 tubes in single-ended amplifiers. I have always enjoyed single-ended tube amps with the Cornwalls, along with a Scott LK48B 7189 PP amplifier for listening to vinyl. Crossover networks are charge-coupled B2 version, with Dayton Audio 1% tolerance polyprop caps. I have a pair of oak '83 Cornwalls, with K51 mid drivers, Crites CT125 tweeters, and Crites woofers. Could this circuit with James OPTs have the nice sound using Cornwalls like my little SEP 6BQ5/EL84 amplifiers? Yet with a bit more power and bass grunt? What kinds of components would i need to get these tubes to start playing the game amplifier i have intentions on using this amp with modern audio scorce components so the typical RCA audio jacks and a 3.Okay, about a year or so ago I seen Maynard had posted this amplifier on the forum. 6 A from input 117 volts im assuming that was for the heaters in the tubes Now correct me if im wrong as im no expert in electronics though i do like tinkering i can basically understand scematics (very basic lol) tubes to build a stareo amplifier i dont need any crazy power output or anything one of these tubes info says its capeable of 10 watt output according to my friend these tubes are good im not familiar with transformers ive got one transformer from a tube radio that outputs 6.3 volt at. Im planning a vacume tube amplifier build (thanks to recieving some tubes from a friend) ive found out that there are a cupple tubes that could be of use in such a project these are as fallowsĦAQ5 (this tube is an 6AQ5A and according to what ive read is used as the output tube in an amp)ĦAQ8 (dual triode used as the first stage tube in an amp)
